Realising the Ambition: Hard-Copy Request Update

Realising the Ambition: Hard-Copy Request Update
In February last year, SCMA was in conversation with the Scottish Government about the delivery of hard copies of Realising the Ambition: Being Me, for childminders who wanted to request one.

As a result, a dedicated mailbox was setup for childminders to email their details and request a hard copy of the practice guidance. Over the past year, many childminders have used this route and have received their copy through the post from the Scottish Government – however, some childminders have reported delays and issues.

Staff at the Scottish Government are largely still working from home, and we have been informed that it is only possible for hard copies to be dispatched on a monthly basis, which may account for the delays that some childminders have experienced. We appreciate this may be frustrating.

We have been informed by the Scottish Government that all requests are now up-to-date, and they have caught up with the backlog, resulting from COVID-19 and the impact of the pandemic on many activities. The final batch of the backlog is due to be sent out in the next two weeks.

If - after this time – you have not received your request for a hard copy of Realising the Ambition, please submit a request once again. Email realisingtheambition@gov.scot your details and state your request. Please ensure that you clearly state your name, full address and postcode.

Please Note: The Scottish Government has advised that more than 300 hard copies of the guidance were returned back to them by Royal Mail, due to addresses being incorrect, incomplete or settings being closed. Please ensure that the details that you submit are correct and accurate.

Realising the Ambition: Being Me is also available online here, and SCMA members can also access the guidance from the Membership Dashboard
