This course comprises of four sections, looking at the Curriculum for Excellence: Early Level 3-5 years, and aims to provide an understanding of how it works in a childminding setting.

The objectives of the course are to:

  • Understand what the Curriculum is, and its purpose.
  • Focus on the Early Level: children aged 3-5 years.
  • Increase your knowledge of the different components of the Curriculum.
  • Understand how to use the Curriculum to document and plan.
  • Provide you with a tool to support the application of the Curriculum for Excellence confidently within your childminding setting.

Our Learn with SCMA team can arrange any SCMA course to come to you - wherever you are in Scotland.  

Provided you know at least six SCMA members interested in a particular course, we can provide the training.  We can arrange for any of our Continuing Professional Learning courses to be organised for groups of 6-20 SCMA members at a date, time and place to suit you and your group.
