SCMA members can request copies of the ‘Pre-Birth to Three: Positive Outcomes for Scotland’s Children and Families’ publication directly from SCMA.
Thanks to the generosity of Education Scotland – who developed the guidance – SCMA is keen for all childminders in Scotland to have and refer to the document to continually improve and support best practice.
What is Pre-Birth to Three?
Pre-Birth to Three supports people working with and on behalf of Scotland’s youngest children and their families, and is designed to be used in tandem with Building the Ambition.
This national guidance reflects and supports Scotland's shared vision and commitment to developing a strategic approach to prevention and early intervention in tackling the significant inequalities in Scottish society. It is built on research and seeks to promote evidence-based approaches.
The guidance recognises the importance of pregnancy and the first years of life in influencing children's development and future outcomes. A focus on this period is therefore critical to achieving positive outcomes for Scotland's children and families.
Each copy of Pre-Birth to Three from SCMA costs £3 to cover the cost of postage and packaging. Alternatively, you can
