Further to the webinars that were hosted by Business Gateway in February, they have now progressed onto Phase Two of the pilot programme of Business Gateway support for school-age childcare providers and childminders.
A further series of small group cohorts are available during March, to enable childminders to gain specialist advice on financial management, HR, social media and marketing and to further understand the issues facing the sector.
SCMA has not been involved in the planning of these sessions; however, we understand the Scottish Government has identified an opportunity at short notice to pilot this before the end of this financial year to inform possible wider future availability.
What is being offered?
Childminders can sign up to attend a one-hour webinar, which cover areas including: financial management, HR, social media and marketing and to further understand the issues facing the sector.
Childminder webinars are being run at various times during March (you only need to attend one of the webinars) on the following dates:
- Saturday 5 March: 10-11am
- Saturday 5 March: 11am-12pm
- Saturday 5 March: 1-2pm
- Thursday 10 March: 6-7pm
- Tuesday 15 March: 7-8pm
- Saturday 19 March: 3-4pm
- Tuesday 22 March: 6-7pm
- Tuesday 22 March: 7-8pm
- Wednesday 23 March: 5-6pm
- Saturday 26 March: 3-4pm
- Tuesday 29 March: 5-6pm
- Tuesday 29 March: 6-7pm

If you attend any of the sessions, you will be asked to provide some feedback. This will help to inform the development of a wider programme of support for childcare services to support their long-term sustainability.
